A 6-week course for leaders and coaches - starting February 2, 2021
Join us for a unique learning opportunity, Discovering Our Habits of Mind Through the 12 Self-Discoveries, aimed at uncovering and overcoming the habits of mind keeping you and those you coach or lead stuck in unproductive patterns. The 12 Self-Discoveries emerged from observing where our clients frequently derail and thereby are unable to operate at their best. We will teach you how to spot and work with your own habits of mind, providing you the opportunity to practice methods to get back into alignment with what is important to you and the impact you want to have.
To the extent Emotional Intelligence (EI) plays a role in our ability to show up at our best, EI is only as beneficial as our ability to apply it. In this course, we will pay special attention to ways we can operationalize our own EI through the 12 Self-Discoveries, delving into practices to activate self-agency, that is what we have direct influence over in our lives.
The course is designed to introduce participants to the core concepts and frameworks during the live, online seminars. Then, in between sessions, you’ll have an opportunity to apply these lessons to become more effective at enacting these practices when they most count and, in turn, help those you coach or lead to do the same.
While this course is not a coaching certification program, it will give you a glimpse into a central component of what distinguishes the Goleman EI coaching methodology from other coaching approaches, allowing you to prioritize your own growth and development. The 12 Self-Discoveries will provide you with insights on your own underlying mental models you use to make sense of your experience along with their implications. This course is geared towards current or aspiring coaches, as well as other professionals who see themselves as leaders irrespective of role or titles and have an interest in the subject.
Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from Goleman EI.
The course will consist of:
- Four (4), 90-minute live, online seminars every two weeks: February 2, February 16, March 2, and March 16, 2021 at 12 noon Eastern time (U.S)
- Six (6) weeks of self-reflection and journaling using the Learn, Apply, Reflect model, central to our approach to real-time habit change
Participants will be eligible for 6 Continuing Coaching Education units for the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in Resource Development.
